RFID

Does RFID technology require a new card for the 2023/24 season?
Yes. A new card will be mailed to Ikon Pass, Tonik and Latitude pass holders. This card will allow, just like previous years, access to the various discounts and privileges if applicable. Meanwhile daily tickets can be picked up on site via the printing kiosks or at the counter.
Does this technology require a new card each season?
No. This technology allows you to reuse the same card from year to year unless otherwise specified by Tremblant or Ikon Pass. The information will be sent to you when you purchase or renew your pass or card.
What is RFID technology?
RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification. This technology allows the gates installed at the base of the lifts to read the content of a pass or ski ticket using a signal emitted by the gate. Without having to take the card out of your clothes, regardless of the temperature, the signal emitted by the gate allows you to open the barriers when you pass.
What are the advantages of RFID technology?
The speed of access to the lifts and the user-friendliness of the automatic detection of the card while leaving it inside the garment are the main advantages.
How to ensure the best reading of an RFID card?
The card should be placed on the left side of your top garment. Make sure the card is free of any other interfering item such as a cell phone, packet of gum or others. Other cards such as credit or debit cards do not create a problem because they are not compatible with the lift gates. No problem with magnets either as information is not stored magnetically. However, the card should not be pierced other than the original hole as this could damage the antenna.
If the access door does not open, step back slightly and try again by bringing your card closer to the reader. Otherwise, an employee will come to you.

How are passes validated when passing?
An agent is in charge of authentication. During your visit, he will see your photo, your name and the type of subscription you have on his screen.
What about Express Line seasonal access?
Holders of Express Line access will have to go through 2 gates; the first will detect the Express Line access and the second, the validity of your subscription or ticket.
Will gates be present at all lifts?
Yes, gates will be installed at the following lifts:
- Flying Mile
- Express Gondola
- TGV
- Duncan Express
- Expo Express
- Lowell Thomas Express
- Edge
- Le Soleil
Does this technology imply that the card contains data?
RFID cards only contain a number associated with each unique user profile. No personal or additional information is stored there.
What to do in case of loss or theft?
Go to customer service or contact our call center to get a new one and deactivate the lost card.
Does RFID technology apply to alpine touring and hiking?
No. Only access to the ski lifts uses this technology. Validation of alpine hiking access is carried out by the mountain patrol. Summer access to the mountain either by gondola or the Flying Mile lift for the luge activity and Tonga Lumina will also require an RFID card.
