The Franklin Electric
presented as part of les rythmes tremblant
Les Rythmes Tremblant offers free outdoor concerts that let you hear your favorite artists in a festive and relaxed atmosphere. Dance to the beats of various musical styles such as country, disco, Latin and funk. A party for the whole family in the heart of Tremblant’s village!
Since the advent of their debut album This Is How I Let You Down (2014), The Franklin Electric have set themselves apart by turning experiences into anthems. With over 450 shows under their belts, the Montreal collective led by Jon Matte travels the globe - alongside artists such as Mumford & Sons, Ben Howard, Half Moon Run and City and Colour - then headlines. Along the way, his second opus Blue Ceilings (2017) makes a mark, leading to a Juno nomination in the "Breakthrough Group of the Year" category. Building on this momentum, The Franklin Electric released their duology EP In Your Head (2019) / In Your Heart (2020), which racked up over 4 million online listens for the song In Your Heart alone. This is followed by the EP Never Look Back (2020), nominated for an ADISQ Gala in the "Album of the Year - Reinterpretation" category, and the album This Time I See It (2021). The year 2022 is punctuated by Borderline, Answers, Rabbit Hole, Lesser of the Worst and A Token of Your Purpose, which help the collective triple their monthly audience on online listening platforms. An ideal introduction to Oh Brother (2023), a new chapter of vulnerability in which Jon Matte reveals himself as never before.
